ABOUT

About Jacqueline Nicolini...

There are two basic things about me besides my love for taking photos.

Firstly, I am an artist. I have been a creative person as far back as I can remember. I started off with drawing things from my imagination and then, by the age of 7, I was drawing from real-life observation. This drawing from observation has remained ever since; only now I am trying to work my way back to when I was more childlike and work from my imagination. Besides using drawing as a medium, I use painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture all as a way of expressing myself in the process of being creative.

Secondly, My passion is teaching. There is nothing that I love more than sharing my understanding for a subject with someone who wants to learn. I teach drawing and painting, with a focus on the human figure. I have an in-depth understanding of the human anatomy, various drawing and painting techniques, to include sight-size drawing, which is a traditional method of observing the subject.

Oh, and...
I'm known to sing under my breath to Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.
I never say no to gelato and always say yes to my friends.
I hum when I am really happy, which has earned me the nickname Bee.

Countries my camera has taken me: Belgium, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey (both the European and Asian Continents), United States (including Hawaii), and Vatican City.
