Foot Notes from Istanbul

There is nothing that I do creatively that puts me more "in the moment" than when I take pictures of my own feet while traveling. Here are some photos I took during a recent trip to Istanbul, Turkey.
The interesting part about having these photos of my feet is the moment I sit down to sift through them; days, months or even years later, they somehow magically transport me right back to the instance when I released the shutter button to capture that particular moment in time.

Making my way up the stone pathway to the second tier inside the
Hagia Sophia Museum.

It's a requirement to remove your shoes when visiting a mosque.
Here are my socked feet inside the Süleymaniye Mosque.

Standing along one of the 58 streets in Istanbul's famous Grand Bazaar
the largest and oldest covered market in the world.

The original tile floor inside Vera Bozacisi dates back to 1876.
Be sure to go there for a sip of their Boza!
